Game Summary
Thursday afternoon’s contest was played with all the intensity one would expect in a game pitting two rivals with league title aspirations against one another. Carlmont scored twice in the bottom of the 4th and held on by the narrowest of margins the rest of the way to turn back Sequoia 3-2 and remain alone in first at the top of the PAL Bay. JR LHP’s Jack Wangsness and Ben Smith and SR RHP Matt Smith combined to hold the Scots to just two hits, but Carlmont small-balled their way to just enough offense and ace SR RHP Sean Prozell (7-0) made it stand up. SR RF Chris Cook had two hits and two RBI for Sequoia (9-3) (3-2 PAL Bay). The Cherokees will play next week out of the area as they look to defend their tournament title in the Kiwanis Selma Easter Classic. They open tournament play Monday night at 7:00 PM at Immanuel High School in Reedley.
