Just 7 days after the two premier teams in the PAL South hooked up on Sequoia’s home floor, they went at it again. After the Cherokees convincing win a week ago, the Bears returned the favor, stifling Sequoia’s potent offense in a 63-52 game.
Sequoia led 21-18 after one quarter, but the second frame was all M-A as the Bears outscored the Cherokees 25-6, a number which could have been even worse if not for N’Jai LeBlanc Jr.’s desperation 3 at the first half buzzer. The Bears’ Eric Norton, the reigning PAL Player of the Year was dominant on both ends of the court, scoring 23 points and deflecting several passes. LeBlanc Jr. had 20 points in the loss for Sequoia, who falls to (17-4) (7-2 PAL South) on the eve of two more rivalry contests this week against Woodside on Wednesday and Carlmont on Friday.
