Game Summary
Sequoia scored multiple runs in four separate innings including a 5-run, 2-out rally in the second that spotted JR LHP Jack Wangsness to an early 8-0 lead. Wangsness (3-0) worked five innings scattering five hits and striking out five before giving way to JR RHP Travis Mathieu (6th) and JR RHP Joey Berljafa (7th). The offensive star was SR DH Chris Cook who posted a perfect 5 X 5 afternoon with a double and 5 RBI. JR LF Brandon Gee and SR 2B Nick DeMarco each had multi-hit games and SR SS Matt Casey added a pair of RBI. The Cherokee offense has now scored 47 runs in their last four contests, part of a 7-game winning streak that leaves them (8-1) (2-0 PAL Bay) with the second game of the home and home series against Hillsdale coming up on Friday afternoon.
