SR Gennie Cheatham recorded her second hat trick in as many weeks and Cameron Cosentino added a fourth tally as the Sequoia Womens Soccer Team won on the road at Mills Thursday afternoon. The result may have bordered on expected, but what was not was news from Half Moon Bay that the Cougars had drawn with 1st place San Mateo- a massive upset that returns their own destiny into Sequoia’s hands. “It means that Monday is huge,” stated head coach Melissa Schmidt. “It’s the two best teams in the league. If we are able to go in and beat San Mateo, then we are back in the drivers’ seat for the league title and the automatic CCS berth.” The Bearcats stunned the Lady Cherokees with a last-minute goal to win 2-1 last month.
