Sequoia has waited for the return of SR RB Ponove Veimau and on Friday night, he was well worth the wait. In his first game after regaining academic eligibility, Veimau gashed The King’s Academy for 220 yards and 4 TDs in the 39-30 win.
SR Quarterback Nick DeMarco threw for 234 yards with 2 TD’s and no interceptions to help the Cherokees overcome a sluggish start and win on the road. The win improves Sequoia to (4-5) (3-2 PAL Ocean) and keeps the Cherokees’ playoff hopes with the regular season finale against Carlmont looming.
JR WR Duncan Stewart had 139 yards receiving and both scores through the air.
