The Cherokees got two big performances on Wednesday night when they hosted a scrappy Mills Vikings squad. One of them was from an expected source, and the other, maybe not so much. SR PG N’Jai LeBlanc Jr. continued his recent success with another 20-pt effort, but it was reserve SR G Matt Bolanos who hit 5 3’s to finish with a new career high of 15. “He was hot. Figured we better keep getting him the ball,” quipped Sequoia Head Coach Fine Lauese.
The win moves the Cherokees to (17-3) (7-1 PAL South) and sets the stage for maybe the signature PAL game of the season as Sequoia travels to Menlo-Atherton (15-4) (7-1) Friday night in the nightcap of the quadruple-header action (7:45 tip).
