The most successful season in recent history came to a disappointing end for the Sequoia Men’s basketball team on Wednesday evening with a 70-66 loss to visiting Folsom. The Cherokees took a two point lead at halftime and seemed in control for most of the second half, opening up a 12-point lead late in the 3rd quarter. But with a 66-60 lead and just over 3 minutes remaining, Sequoia went cold. The Bulldogs scored the game’s final ten points to escape with the 4-point win. The loss leaves the Cherokees 25-6 overall on the season with the first state playoff trip since the CIF implemented its current tournament structure.
