Game Summary
A recent trend of self-inflicted damage continued Wednesday afternoon for Sequoia in a 12-6 loss at Hillsdale. The Cherokees walked six, hit two batters, committed three errors and allowed two crucial popups to fall leading to 4-run Hillsdale rallies in the 2nd and 4th innings. Sequoia answered the Knights’ first rally with three runs of their own in the top of the third, in a series highlighted by an RBI double from SR 2B Kyle Pruhsmeier, but that would be all the offense for Sequoia until the 7th inning when the game had essentially been salted away. Pruhsmeier was 3 X 3 with a BB, 2B, RBI and 2 runs scored, and SR CF Brandon Gee also added a two-run single in the 7th. SR RF Jack Wangsness also singled to safely extend his hitting streak to ten games. SR LHP Ben Smith (1-4) lasted 2+ innings before giving way to JR RHP Rhoan Tussy, SR RHP Kasi Pohahau, and JR RHP Alejandro Palomarez. With the loss, the Cherokees fall to (2-14) (1-4 PAL Bay).
