XC Summer Conditioning

2019 Sequoia HS Cross Country “Going the distance…”   Welcome to the Sequoia Cross Country (XC) team! Our team is open to all who want to run and be part of a fun and enjoyable sport.  Unlike some sports, we do not cut athletes who show up every day to practice, train consistently, and race.

Cross country information

The first official cross country practice will be August 15 at 4:00 pm at the softball field.  There are optional workouts going on until then at 9:00 am Monday-Friday.  Email coach Mike McRae with questions:  coachmtmcrae@gmail.com.

Hundreds Take to the Streets of RWC in Annual Stampede

For the 8th consecutive year, the Sequoia Sports and Boosters Club put on its annual 5K run and tot trot through the residential neighborhoods around the high school. Sequoia students were joined by family members, community supporters and yes, even some of the youngest runners around. Congratulations to all of the division winners and participants!

Cross country season is starting!

The first cross country practice will be on 8/16 at 4:00.  Meet at the softball field at Elwood and Katherine.  Contact Coach Bruce with questions:  brucewernick@sbcglobal.net.  

Cross country summer workouts

There will be optional workouts for anyone interested in cross country starting on June 12th.  Workouts will be everyday from 10:30 to 12:00.  Meet at the softball field.  Everyone is welcome to join!

Men’s Cross Country Earns 6th Place Finish in Opening Meet

In the season-opening PAL league meet, the Cherokees men’s cross-country team earned a sixth place finish, well behind meet winner Menlo-Atherton, but in front of Aragon, Westmoor, El Camino and Capuchino. Alonso Gonzalez Villa was the top Sequoia finisher (13th) and Christopher Charekian was second-best (27th overall).
